Cute FTP DOWNLOAD NOW

Starting out
When you first log on to Cute FTP, you will find yourself in the FTP site manager. The easiest way to connect to your server for the first time is to use the Connection Wizard, which will pop up when you open the program

1. Choose your ISP - This actually means your web host, not your dialup connection. Select "other."

2. Enter a label - Use something easy to remember, such as your domain or username.

3. FTP Host Address - www.YOURDOMAIN.com

4. Username and password - Your username and password. Do not check "Anonymous login."

5. Default local directory - This is the directory on your computer where your files are kept, e.g. C:\mystuff.

6.Additional options - you can choose to connect automatically when you open the program, and/or add the site to your right click mouse menu.

Uploading

The left frame shows the files on your computer; the right those on your server. To upload, simply click on a file on the left and drag it into the panel on the right. You can hold down the shift key to select multiple files to upload.

FTP using WS_FTP95 LE

  • All files should be in .htm or .html extension
  • File names should be in lower case
  • All the files will be uploaded under path/web
  • Create Button directories for saving buttons and image directories for saving images.
  • Images and buttons will be uploaded under the path/web/buttons and web/images respectively

Steps

  • Open the FTP Software
  • Click on connect Under Profile name type any name for reference
  • Host will be your domain name www.domainname.com, ftp.domainname.com
  • Here the Host type: should always be automatic detect
  • User ID: whatever username supplied
  • Password:
  • Click on save password checkbox
  • (Anonymous is used for people with no domain name or guests)
  • Here in case of anonymous the user id is the e-mail id
  • Go to start up and type in the particular path/web
  • So it will take you to that path
  • Firewall: This is for security purpose.
  • The host name will be IP number of the machine where the modem is attached
  • The firewall type- user with no logon
  • Click OK
  • Connect you will reach the path and you can FTP from your local system to your remote system
  • Whenever you do FTP the selected choice should be Binary
