Dry dates (karak) 500 gms

Milk 1 and ½ litre

Almond and pista powder 50

gms

method
  1. Wash the dates and keep aside.
  2. Boil the milk in a heavy bottom pan. Add the dates and allow to simmer.
  3. Stir frequently and let the milk reduce and thicken to mava consistency.
  4. Stir in the almond and the pista powder. Pick out the dates and remove the stone.
  5. Slit and fill the dates with the prepared mava.
  6. Allow to cool completely and wrap each date in paper/foil.
  7. These are traditionally used to break the last (30th day) fast.
