Ingredients

Mutton mince (lean) 400 gms

Channa (chick pea) dal (soaked) 100 gms

Onions 30 gms

Ginger-garlic paste 20 gms

Green chilli 2-3

Red chilli powder 1 tsp

Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp

Fresh mint leaves a few sprigs

Fresh green coriander 1/2 bunch

Salt to taste

Garam masala 1 tsp

Oil for frying on the tava (griddle)

method
  1. Wash and soak the dal and boil till tender. Drain the water. Lightly fry the mince in a little oil to evaporate the moisture.
  2. Add onions, ginger-garlic paste, green chilli, red chilli and turmeric.
  3. Mix well and fry lightly, add the dal. Remove from the fire.
  4. Grind to a paste, along with the coriander and the mint.
  5. Season with salt, garam masala and add a little egg if necessary to bind the mixture. Shape into small balls, flatten lightly and fry in hot oil on the tava.
  6. Serve with onion rings.
