Pyar Mein Kabhi Kabhi
Starring: Dino Morea, Sanjay Suri, Rinke Khanna
Director: Raj Kaushal

‘Over-hyped’ is the only word to describe it. P.M.K.K is Dimple’s daughter, Rinke Khanna’s launch vehicle into tinsel-town. Sadly, Rinke is nowhere near her glamorus mother or even sis, Twinkle, who’s been showing a bit of promise lately. The film traces the growing up pains of a bunch of actors and performers who are chasing their own dreams of name, fame and success. This is a debut film for all — the actors, the directors, even the producers (Sony) – and it shows!

The story is usual, run-of-the-mill without any high points. Sid (Dino Morea) and Bugs are two good friends who fall for a rich girl called Khushi (Rinke Khanna). For some reason everyone is out to impress her and make friends with her. The story drags on with Khushi finally falling in love with Sid, while Bugs plays the part of a supportive friend and a silent lover. Sid takes his own time in realising the depth of his feelings for Khushi. In the meanwhile, the audience is treated to some hot stuff in the form of Roxy (Tora Kashgir), who is the model/pop star Sid is infatuated with. Seeing her (non-existent) acting prowess, one just hopes she had stayed put as a poster in Sid’s room! The film ends predictably with Sid repenting and Bugs re-uniting the broken-hearted lovers.

Sanjay Suri shows a bit of promise with his controlled performance. Dino Morea has the kind of looks which will only fetch him similar kind of roles. The only songs worth a mention are ‘Musu Musu’ and ‘Wo pehli baar jab hum mile…’ both sung by Shaan. Inspite of a sketchy storyline and average performance from the cast, the only redeeming feature of the film is its fresh & youthful look. Though by the end, the audience has had enough of the ‘youth’ too & everybody is hoping their juvenile pranks would end sooner than later.
