| You
have a little girl playing cupid between her father and
her dead mother's collegemate because that is what her
mother had wanted. The collegemate (Kajol), had in fact
been in love with the husband (Shahrukh), but had been
bypassed for the other girl (Rani), who ended up becoming
the wife, but only for a little while, as heaven soon
beckoned. Shahrukh puts in his usual brand of acting
though Rani Mukherjee is a pleasant surprise - that girl
has talent. Kajol is of course, her usual talented self.
Also deserving kudos is Santosh Thundiyil for his
brilliant camerawork, and Sharmishta Roy for her
effective art direction.
The
movie is a must-see. It's got peppy songs, a fresh
storyline and it makes you feel happy - but then happy
endings generally do!
Its a movie that doesn't have too many
dark undertones. It lets the viewer enjoy, smile and
maybe shed a few tears - which is basically why we go to
the cinema hall, isn't it?
